Safeguarding

The Methodist Church is committed to safeguarding as an integral part of its life and ministry. Safeguarding is about the action the Church takes to promote a safer culture. This means we will:

  • promote the welfare of children, young people and adults
  • work to prevent abuse from occurring
  • seek to protect and respond well to those that have been abused.

Ludwick Way Methodist Church Safeguarding Policy

The Safeguarding of children, young people and vulnerable adults is the responsibilty of all users of the church, both in the church building and in the local community. The aim of Safeguarding in Ludwick Way Methodist Church is to create and maintain a space where everyone, especially children, young people and vulnerable adults, can feel safe and find help if it is needed.

This will be achieved by encouraging all church users to provide open and welcoming atmosphere, where all church users can feel safe and anyone suffering abuse of any kind, can feel they are able to get help. In order to put this into action the church has appointed a trained Safeguarding Officer and displays the names contact details of everyone in the church, circuit and district who can offer support and help in a confidential and appropriate manner.
